Inscape Corporation, leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of innovative workplace solutions, has been honored with a fifth design award for its Planna system. The Design Exchange award was presented at a gala celebration at the Design Exchange in Toronto on November 24, 2009. Planna won in the Industrial Design category of the competition.

Planna is a storage-based desking system that incorporates floating worksurfaces to produce long, low, intersecting lines evoking the sleek horizontal architectural styling of Tadao Ando.

Featuring a high-end aesthetic, it is a durable alternative for the mid-market category. Planna can be used in open plan benching applications and is an excellent option for private office applications.

Since its launch in 2008, Planna has been honored with a Best of NeoCon award, a GOOD DESIGN award, Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year award, Canadian Interiors’ Best of Canada award and now the Design Exchange award. “The recognition and honors that Planna has received has far exceeded our expectations. We are delighted this aesthetically superior and functional product has been so well received in the marketplace,” says Peter Brunelle, President and CEO.

The Design Exchange Awards promote Canadian design excellence and recognizes the critical role of design in all types of organizations including commercial entities, not-for-profit organizations, and the public sector. The DXAs are Canada’s only award program to judge design by results, balancing function, aesthetics, and economic success.

Headquartered in Holland Landing, Canada, Inscape is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance solutions for today’s constantly evolving workplace, offering a continually expanding range of products and services, including office furniture systems, filing and storage and architectural products.
