Siemens Building Technologies introduces the RDG line of room thermostats – a new generation of energy-efficient and extremely versatile products. The extensive choice of electrical connections enables the RDG thermostats to be used on a host of applications. The products also excel in modern design and ease of operation.
Thanks to their innovative features, the new room thermostats of the RDG line from Siemens help save energy and lower costs. The functions provided ensure maximum energy efficiency and include time programs with eight individually programmable timers, four different operating modes (automatic, comfort, energy saving and protection), set-point limitations for heating and cooling, automatic control of fan speed, and an absence function. Also available are variable connection facilities for external sensors and signal sources, such as room temperature sensors, presence detectors, changeover sensors and key cards with the help of which energy efficiency and comfort can be further enhanced.
The RDG room thermostats are designed for wall mounting. They are of modern and elegant design and match any decor, which enables them to be fitted anywhere in a room. Thanks to their large display and intuitive operating concept with setting knob and large buttons, the units are extremely user-friendly. Temperatures (in degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit), time of day and other parameters can be easily read and the backlit display even allows the unit to be operated in the dark. To prevent tampering, the buttons of all types of RDG room thermostats can be locked.
With the six models of the RDG100 and RDG400 lines, the RDG product portfolio covers a very extensive choice of applications: From fan coil units to variable air volume plants, from chilled ceilings to radiator heating systems and heat pumps – the right product is available to meet the requirements of every application. The standalone versions of the RDG line are complemented by KNX-compatible models with additional features, enabling the units to be seamlessly integrated into existing systems.
For the markets in the UK, the Middle East and Asia, the RDF line of room thermostats are available which, in terms of functions, are nearly identical to the units of the RDG line. These models offer the same features and are designed for flush mounting on recessed conduit boxes conforming to BS4662.
