London-based glass art specialist Andrew Moor Associates has created a dramatic exterior entrance to a new apartment building.
This new apartment building is on the south side of London’s Regents Park, just a few yards from London’s famous Planetarium. Above the entrance is a coloured glass canopy, overhanging the entrance steps. Its colours capture the changing seasonal colours of the adjacent park; its abstract composition imbued with movement and energy.
Beside the clear glass entrance doors is a 1.8m-long curving panel of coloured enamelled steel. This very different medium, also installed by Andrew Moor Associates, creates a beautiful contrast to the strong colours of the canopy. If inspected closely the curved panel reveals a mixture of delicately drawn classical architectural facades and soft foreground leafy shapes, all expressed in pale colours.
