The Ministry of Energy and Industries, Uzbekistan (MoEIU) is undertaking the construction of Sazagan Solar PV 1000 MW and BESS 668 MW in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The project includes the following:
The project is divided into two sub-projects:
1. Sazagan 1 Solar PV 500 MW and BESS 334 MW
a. Construction of 500 MW solar photovoltaic (PV)
b. Construction of 334 MW battery energy storage system (BESS)
2. Sazagan 2 Solar PV 500 MW and BESS 334 MW
a. Construction of 500 MW solar photovoltaic (PV)
b. Construction of 334 MW battery energy storage system (BESS)
3. Construction of a substation
4. Construction of overhead transmission line with a length of 475 km
5. Construction of loop-in loop-out transmission lines
6. Installation of generators
7. Installation of solar panels
8. Associated facilities.
Construction on the project is expected to be completed by Q4 2026.
