Yorkshire Water has appointed seven contractors for its Asset Management Plan 8 (AMP8) complex non-infrastructure works framework in England.

The companies, encompassing Barhale, Galliford Try, Glanua, Kier, Mott MacDonald Bentley, Tilbury Douglas, and Ward & Burke, will share the framework's £850m ($1.04bn) value over the five-year period from 2025 to 2030.

Yorkshire Water programme delivery head Rachael Fox said: “We’re looking forward to working with our chosen partners as we embark on an ambitious investment programme from 2025. There’s a big challenge ahead - not only to meet new regulatory requirements, but to meet customer expectations too - and effective collaboration will be key to our success.”

The contractors will contribute their expertise in civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and building to support Yorkshire Water's investment in its clean water and wastewater networks across the region.

This initiative is part of Yorkshire Water’s 'largest-ever' environmental programme, which has been approved by the national water regulator Ofwat at £8.3bn.

Commenting on the appointment, Barhale regional director Mark Wood said: “There is a very large and exciting plan for the next five years and beyond. It will help to improve water quality and network resilience, reduce carbon footprint and enhance biodiversity and deliver a better customer experience across the region.”

“The long contract term will allow Barhale to continue to grow as a business and to invest in our current staff and bring on new staff in all areas of the business."
