YIT has secured contracts valued at approximately €28m ($30.94m) for three apartment building projects funded by the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland.

The projects are located in Helsinki, Joensuu, and Tampere.

These contracts, which have been recorded in this year's third-quarter order book, have been agreed upon with TA-Asumisoikeus and TA-Yhtymä.

TA-Asumisoikeus CEO Esa Mustonen said: “We are pleased to continue our long-term cooperation with YIT. With these projects, we can offer our customers more high-quality housing options in excellent locations.”

In Helsinki's Haaga district, YIT will develop Helsingin Saarni, a project with a gross floor area of approximately 2,600m², comprising 39 apartments.

These units will use geothermal heating, aligning with ecological standards.

Construction is set to commence this month and is anticipated to conclude in August 2025.

Helsingin Saarni will share a communal block yard with adjacent buildings.

The company will also construct Joensuun Tulliportinkatu 7b and c in the Otsola district of Joensuu.

This development includes two blocks of flats, offering a total of 46 apartments over a gross floor area of roughly 4,200m².

The project is also scheduled to start this month, with an expected completion date in October 2025.

These flats will, similar to the aforementioned project, share a communal yard with neighbouring properties.

Finally, in Tampere, the Tohlopinranta 29 project will feature an eight-storey residential building with a gross floor area of about 2,550m², housing 34 apartments.

The building will offer views of Lake Tohloppijärvi.

The construction phase is due to begin this month, with the project's completion targeted for the same month next year.

The development will also include a shared yard area and a parking garage, which will be constructed alongside a neighbouring house.

YIT Housing EVP Antti Inkilä said: “YIT and TA have had good collaboration in several different projects around Finland.

“It's great to be able to continue working with our long-term partner on new projects, which all have excellent locations.”

Additionally, last month, YIT was awarded a contract by the City of Lappeenranta to construct a new indoor sports hall.
