Finnish construction company YIT and TA-Yhtymä have agreed on the construction of Asunto Oy Espoon Kipsimestari in the Kera district of Espoo, Finland.

The Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (ARA)-funded housing deal includes the sale of the plot and is valued at approximately €12m ($13.02m).

TA-Yhtymä is a Finnish non-profit group approved by the ARA and it provides homes to more than 37,000 residents.

The project encompasses roughly 3,700m² of floor space, with plans to build 48 apartments, the majority of which are family-oriented and feature dual aspects.

Each apartment will boast its own glazed balcony while shared amenities throughout the entire block will include a bicycle maintenance room and a recycling room.

This development marks YIT's second project in the Kera area, which is envisioned as a communal, village-like urban space equipped with clean and smart technology.

Kera's transformation into a future-focused city district aligns with the broader trend of sustainable and community-centric urban development in the country.

The joint contract will be recorded in YIT's order book for the previous quarter (Q3).

This follows YIT's earlier agreement with TA-Asumisoikeus this October, valued at €9m, for an eight-storey apartment building in Tampere, with completion set for next October.

This project follows a series of contracts with TA-Asumisoikeus and TA-Yhtymä for three domestic apartment buildings in Helsinki, Joensuu, and Tampere, all set for completion in 2025.
