YIT has announced the signing of a construction contract with A-Kruunu for the development of the Asunto Turun Fabriikin Gunnar and Asunto Turun Fabriikin Giselle apartment buildings in Turku, Finland.

The contract, valued at approximately €17m ($19m), will be included in YIT's order book for the third quarter of this year.

The project will feature two housing companies on separate plots, encompassing approximately 4,700m² of floor space.

This development will offer a total of 76 homes, all classified in the A energy class, and include 49 parking spaces. A shared garage will also be constructed under the yard decks.

Construction is set to begin this month, with completion of the homes anticipated at the beginning of 2026.

YIT Housing and Business Premises Southwest Finland regional director Jyrki Meri said: “We are happy to continue our long-term collaboration with A-Kruunu in Turku. With the contract, we will be able to start the construction of the second block of Fabriikki in Turku.

“This is a good indication of the attractiveness of the area. We appreciate that both home buyers and investors consider us a reliable partner.”

Fabriikki is located in the former mechanical engineering area of VR.

The area offers transport links, being roughly 1km from both the bus and train stations, and the local university is a ten-minute bicycle ride away.

Earlier in the month, YIT secured contracts worth approximately €28m for three other apartment building projects.
