City of Wolverhampton Council’s wholly owned housing development company WV Living has selected UK-based W13 to undertake the construction of 34 new homes in the UK.

Situated at Pear Tree Lane, the former Coseley Swimming Baths, the development site marks WV Living’s first venture beyond the Wolverhampton border.

City of Wolverhampton Council deputy leader and Housing cabinet member Steve Evans said: “WV Living, renowned for its high-quality and beautifully designed houses, is taking another positive step forward with this new development.

“As part of our commitment to delivering much-needed housing, we continue to support the overall house-building programme in the City of Wolverhampton. Crossing the border for the first time, we remain steadfast in our ambition to create new homes that people will cherish.”

The Pear Tree Lane housing development is anticipated to commence in early 2024, with completion expected by late 2025.

It will feature a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses. The new homes will have electric vehicle (EV) charging points.

W13 remediation and land director Tony Sadla said: "We're excited to be working with WV Living on revitalising this brownfield site and redefining the urban landscape. By becoming part of this project, we’re not just witnessing change - but actively shaping it.

“We’re very much looking forward to breathing new life into neglected spaces, and paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future."

Last August, WV Living commenced works to construct 178 homes on the site of the former Northicote School in Bushbury.

The development, dubbed Hampton Park, will comprise 29 affordable rental properties and 16 shared-ownership homes.
