Winvic has commenced work on the third project awarded under the Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) highways framework in the UK.

Work has commenced on the reconstruction of Dysart Road in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The five-month project aims to fully rebuild the road, including junctions of adjoining side roads.

The project will use approximately 8,000 tonnes (t) of material.

Winvic will carry out the resurfacing and refurbishment of existing carriageways and pathways.

The scope of work also encompasses associated drainage, kerbing, and channel repairs, with carriageway markings set to be refreshed.

Spanning about 2km, the project extends from the signalised pedestrian crossing at the west end of Dysart Road to just beyond the east end of the A1 bridge.

It will also necessitate the implementation of localised traffic management solutions.

To ensure public safety during the reconstruction, a westbound one-way closure on Dysart Road will be enforced.

The General Works Lot contract, awarded to Winvic, is part of a four-year initiative to create new infrastructure assets and improvements throughout Lincolnshire.

Winvic Civils and Infrastructure managing director Rob Cook said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded our third highways scheme as part of the four-year Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) highways framework.

“Our commitment to excellence extends beyond the construction process, and we will be actively engaging with the local community and businesses, promoting public safety, and planting trees to benefit the environment in nearby areas.

"We are excited to be delivering these essential upgrades to the area and will persevere to ensure minimal disruption and maximum benefits to local communities and road users.”

Earlier this year, Winvic announced the completion of Panattoni Doncaster 420, a net-zero carbon industrial facility in Yorkshire.
