Winvic Construction has completed development of a build-to-rent project in Edgbaston, Birmingham, UK.

This 375-unit apartment project, dubbed Corkfield, has been constructed for client PATRIZIA.

The scope of the project involved the development of 189 one-bedroom, 169 two-bedroom, and 17 three-bedroom units, which were designed by architectural and engineering company Arcadis.

The project also included the construction of 20,000ft² commercial space spread across five units.

Winvic commenced construction of the project in February 2021 and held the topping-out ceremony of the first roof in December of that year.

PATRIZIA Real Estate Development director Richard Scutt said: “Birmingham has exceptionally strong demand for high-quality build-to-rent accommodation and Corkfield introduces essential new homes that are ideally suited to the local market.”

The project has four concrete-framed stair and lift cores, with blocks touching five, six, seven, eight, 13, and 18 storeys.

It also features an underground car park and cycle storage area with space for 340 vehicles and 200 bikes, as well as 40 electric vehicle charging outlets, and a range of common amenity areas.

Among other features at the site include an expansive outdoor TV/film screen and entertainment area, a flexible wellness studio, a co-working lounge, and a 3,000ft² rooftop terrace on the eighth floor that offers a view of the city's skyline and cricket matches at Edgbaston Stadium.

Winvic Multi-room director Mark Jones said: “It’s the first time that we have worked with PATRIZIA and our aligned vision has made it a positive experience throughout.

“Corkfield is a high-quality build-to-rent scheme, which I have no doubt that residents will enjoy.”
