Veidekke, a Norwegian construction company, has secured a design and build contract for the first stage of holiday apartments at Kragero Resort.
Fredensborg Fritid, a destination and holiday home developer, has contracted Veidekke for this project.
The project, valued at close to Nkr200m ($23.7m), will feature 50 holiday apartments with two to four bedrooms, alongside a parking facility.
The new development is situated near the resort's golf course, offering future residents a range of leisure activities.
It includes access to the resort's pool, spa, tennis and padel courts, mini-golf, kayaking, boating, bathing facilities, and numerous cycling and hiking trails.
Fredensborg Fritid CEO Hakon Semb-Arnstorp said: “In a slow holiday home market, this is a project that is going against the flow, and we are very pleased to have Veidekke on board. Kragero Resort Fri homes are suitable for rental through the hotel, and the project supports jobs and the development of activities at the destination.”
Construction is set to commence shortly, with the aim of completing the project before the summer holidays in 2026.
This initiative aligns with Veidekke's expertise in constructing residential, commercial projects and infrastructure such as roads, tunnels, bridges, and buildings across Scandinavia since its founding in 1936.
Veidekke Bygg Vestfold and Telemark district manager Lars Hjertas said: “We would like to thank Fredensborg Fritid for the commission, their confidence in us and the excellent cooperation we have had initially.
“Together, we have managed to agree on good solutions within a cost level that enables implementation while also safeguarding the environment and climate. And we will carry out the work together with our colleagues from Veidekke Bygg Agder.”
