Veidekke, a Scandinavian construction company, has secured a contract for the first phase of the Skeiane station residential project in Stavanger, Norway.
Commissioned by K2 Bolig and Bane NOR Eiendom, this design-and-build contract is valued at approximately Nkr100m ($9.34m), excluding VAT.
Veidekke Rogaland district manager Bendik Aarstad said: “We are very pleased to have won the competition for this commission and to have gained renewed trust from a good customer in K2 Bolig and Bane NOR Eiendom. This is a great project with good qualities and a nice location in the heart of Sandnes.”
The development entails the construction of 47 apartments, varying from 42m² to 111m², to be situated near the Skeiane railway station and Sandved park.
Designed with six floors, the building will feature common rooms, guest bedsits, dedicated parking, a bicycle garage, and commercial spaces.
Each apartment will have its own balcony, with the majority overlooking a recreational street lined with benches, playground equipment, and trees.
Veidekke has initiated demolition work on-site, with construction set to begin next month.
K2 Bolig project manager Brit Sølvi Sandstøl said: “We are very pleased with the start of sales and the positive response in the market. Since the end of 2023, 36 buyers have found their dream home at Skeiane station. In the course of the summer alone we have sold seven apartments, and there are still some apartments available in the first stage. Our goal is occupation in the third quarter of 2026.”
Following closely, the second stage will introduce a further 25 apartments in a five-storey building.
K2 Bolig and Bane NOR Eiendom have reached an agreement with Veidekke to commence construction of this stage upon achieving sufficient advance sales.
This contract has been added to Veidekke’s third-quarter order book.
Last month, Veidekke secured a contract with Ulsmo Eiendom for the design and construction of sustainable office buildings in Ålesund, Norway.
The estimated value of this project is Nkr193m, excluding VAT.
