Scandinavian contractor Veidekke has been tasked by housing developer OBOS Nya Hem to construct new apartments and rowhouses at Träkvista torg in Ekerö, Stockholm, Sweden.

The Skr119m ($12.47m) design and build contract is for the Brf Aroma project, which is slated for possession in early 2027.

The project, in which Veidekke has been involved since the early stages, will see the creation of 42 new apartments and four townhouses across three buildings, ranging from three to four storeys.

This development is set to feature green courtyards, a new access road, and two-level parking.

The Brf Aroma project is expected to be certified in line with the Nordic Ecolabel standard, prioritising low climate impact and energy consumption.

The project is a key part of a new zoning plan for Träkvista torg, which encompasses a mix of residential homes, a nursing home, service facilities, and a brand new town square, all of which are situated close to the natural areas surrounding Lake Mälaren.

The contract has been recorded in Veidekke's order book for the second quarter of 2025.

Last month, Veidekke signed a contract with Bane NOR Eiendom for the Trondheim Station (Trondheim S) construction project in Norway, which comprises 234 apartments and a new terminal building.
