Swedish property manager KKB Fastigheter has appointed Norwegian construction and civil engineering company Veidekke to develop 124 new rental apartments in central Kävlinge, Scania, Sweden.
The design and build contract under this project, named Pilevall, Exporten 54, is worth approximately Skr217m.
Construction on these units is set to commence in October this year, with completion anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Veidekke has included the contract in its bookings for the second quarter of this year.
Veidekke Construction Sweden work manager Emil Norén said: “We are excited to be able to contribute to the development of the Kävlinge town centre together with KKB Fastigheter and to build the winning contribution to the 2020 architectural competition.”
Pilevall, Exporten 54 will help connect the central areas of Kävlinge.
The project is located close to the municipality's train station, as well as its municipal building and swimming pool, both newly constructed for the community.
KKB managing director Mikael Strand said: “We are very happy to be able to press the start button on this important project in the Stationsstaden district.
“Pilevall brings growth and sustainable development to our community. The urban exterior will contribute attractive value to central Kävlinge and become an identity marker.
“The location near the train station gives easy access to sustainable travel and proximity to such services as groceries, pharmacy, health centre, library, restaurants, swimming pool and training facilities.”
