Veidekke has been selected by Fredensborg Bolig to undertake the initial phase of the Poulssons Kvarter residential project at Fornebu in Bærum, Norway.

This development includes the construction of 81 apartments with an underground parking facility. The design and build contract is valued at more than Nkr340 million ($30.47m) excluding VAT.

An apartment block, named Rode, with seven and eight floors, will be built in the first stage of construction, which also consists of a communal underground parking area.

The residences are designed to cater to individuals in various life stages, ranging from smaller two-room apartments to luxurious top-floor units with private roof terraces.

Scheduled to be completed in December 2026, the project aims to enhance living quality and community spirit with shared areas and facilities, including a car-sharing service.

Architecturally, the project seeks to blend with the existing residential landscape, fjord, and park areas, integrating elements from previous structures to preserve a sense of history.

The roof design draws inspiration from nearby listed houses and Lagåsen, featuring a saddle roof.

Poulssons Kvarter project's location is a mere ten-minute public transport ride from central Oslo.

Additionally, Fredensborg Bolig holds an option for a further 114 homes at an estimated value of Nkr290m, excluding VAT.

This commission has been added to Veidekke’s order book for the fourth quarter of 2024.

Last month, Veidekke Logistikkbygg, a subsidiary, secured a contract to construct an environmentally certified commercial building in Lahaugmoen, Lillestrøm, Norway.
