ACS Group’s subsidiary Turner Construction has been chosen to construct a hyperscale data centre campus at the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville, Indiana, US.

The data centre campus, spanning approximately 700,000ft², is for technology company and Facebook parent Meta.

The campus will comprise several buildings and is set to bolster Meta's capacity to deliver advanced technologies and services.

The project represents an investment exceeding $800m and is expected to create roughly 100 operational jobs in the region.

It is the company’s 18th data centre in the US and 22nd in the world.

Turner says it is prioritising efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability in the data centre’s construction.

The company plans to incorporate prefabricated modular assemblies and equipment, which are anticipated to streamline the building process.

Upon completion, the Jeffersonville data centre will operate entirely on renewable energy sourced from new energy projects.

Additionally, the data centre aims to secure Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold (LEED) certification from the US Green Building Council.

Turner vice-president and general manager Dan Harmon said: “We are excited to engage the community and begin work on another data centre project for Meta. At the peak of construction, we will welcome more than 1,250 construction workers a day onto this site.

“Working with members of the community and great local and regional trade partners, we will build this sustainable data centre that will connect people to others and to resources and information around the globe.”

Construction is set to begin this month, with plans to operationalise the centre in 2026.
