Turner Construction Company, in partnership with Sea Breeze Properties and Safdie Rabines Architects, has celebrated a key milestone with the topping off of 222 North City, a mixed-use development expected to transform urban living in North San Diego County, California, US.

As a key component of the North City master-planned community, 222 North City will provide 460 residential units and retail spaces to San Marcos.

This project supports North City’s goal of creating a dynamic, walkable neighbourhood that blends art, culture, and innovation.

Turner Construction Company vice-president and general manager Martine Sanders said: "Sea Breeze Properties' bold vision reflects in every aspect of this development. From design to amenities, this building sets a new benchmark for urban living in North County, and we are proud to contribute to such a transformative community milestone."

The project, expected to be completed in late 2025, will feature two 12-storey towers that offer views of the local landscape, Palomar Mountain, and the Pacific Ocean.

The design by Safdie Rabines Architects focuses on promoting resident wellness, social engagement, and environmental sustainability.

Among the amenities to be offered include a deck with gardens, pools, and outdoor cabanas, a fitness centre, a yoga room, and creative office spaces, all within reach of dining, retail, and entertainment venues.

Safdie Rabines Architects principal Taal Safdie said: "This project is a catalyst for community-focused urban living.

The 222 North City development is in proximity to California State University.

The topping-off ceremony was attended by more than 600 people, including city officials, project partners, and members of the community.
