Trimble has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Esri, aimed at enhancing geographic information system (GIS) software, location intelligence, and mapping services in the construction industry.

This collaboration is set to improve processes, support decision-making, and automate workflows, contributing to more sustainable infrastructure planning, construction, and operations.

The announcement was made at this year's ongoing Esri User Conference, being held from 15 July to 19 July in San Diego, California, US.

Esri business development director Richard Cooke said: “Trimble and Esri are at the forefront of providing integrated solutions to enhance GIS workflow efficiencies for ArcGIS customers around the world.

“This collaboration is particularly valuable in areas such as infrastructure management, asset life cycle management, data advances and location intelligence that enable organisations to make more informed decisions.”

For more than 25 years, Trimble and Esri have been delivering location-enabled solutions to GIS users across various markets, including the construction, transportation, and government sectors.

This longstanding partnership is said to have empowered customers to collect and use quality field data for enhanced decision-making.

With its elevation to a Platinum partner in the Esri Partner Network, Trimble is now focusing on solution interoperability and deeper technology integration.

This expanded collaboration will enable customers to leverage the latest innovations in geospatial technologies, AI, and connected workflows.

Trimble's geospatial field systems are said to improve workflow support for Esri ArcGIS Indoors and the ArcGIS Utility Network.

Trimble vice-president of corporate ventures and partnerships Chris Stern said: “Our partnership with Esri supports our mission to modernise the plan-design-build-operate life cycle.

“By more tightly integrating our advanced geospatial technologies and industry solutions with Esri's market-leading ArcGIS software, we are making it easier for our customers to achieve unparalleled accuracy, efficiency and sustainability in their projects. Together, we can enhance the way people build and manage infrastructure to create safer, smarter and more resilient communities worldwide.”

Earlier this year, Trimble acquired Flashtract, a US-based construction billing software company

Following this acquisition, Flashtract's technology has been integrated and rebranded as Trimble Pay.
