Canadian technology company TELUS International has launched the first phase of its new seven-storey innovative facility in Casablanca, Morocco.

The new site is spread across an area of 7,500m² and integrates advanced technology with ecologically friendly behaviour.

It will be opened in three phases and is anticipated to be completed in the third quarter of next year. Upon completion, the site will employ more than 800 staff.

The first phase includes the site's ground floor, as well as its first, second, and third storeys, and includes features and facilities such as a recruiting centre with interview rooms and testing spaces, training rooms, conference rooms, and breakout places.

The facility will also have a restaurant, gaming area, and lactation room, along with a medical clinic staffed by physicians and nurses, all of which will be geared to promote employee engagement and well-being.

The facility is part of the company’s latest expansion plans into Africa.

TELUS president and CEO Jeff Puritt said: “Our site in Casablanca is a testament to our ongoing commitment to responsible and strategic growth as we continue to meet the evolving needs of long-term clients such as Google, Structube and Travel Planet, and to fulfil the near-term demand we are seeing for greater diversification in offshore and nearshore delivery capabilities for AI data solutions, multilingual customer support and trust and safety services."

The site is being built to triple green certification standards and is equipped with several sustainable features. The standards are Bâtiment Bas Carbone/Low Carbon Building, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, High Environmental Quality, and OsmoZ.
