TCS Construction (TCSC) has been awarded a contract to provide building and associated infrastructure works for affordable housing in Malaysia.
The award of the letter of acceptance aligns with TCS Group's strategic business expansion and aims to boost the company's revenue streams.
The RM116.58m ($28.28m) contract, secured from I&P Kota Bayuemas, covers 561 housing units as part of the Setia Bayuemas project in Klang, Selangor.
This overarching project is a 545-acre freehold mixed development initiative.
The affordable housing initiative is divided into three blocks, with Block A comprising 274 units and Block B offering 287 units.
Meanwhile, Block C is set to include a five-storey car park, which will house two TNB electric substations, a generator, a main distribution frame room, and additional facilities.
Community amenities will feature a surau building, a hall, a preschool, a guard hut, and 12 affordable shop units located on the ground level of Block C.
TCS managing director Dato’ Ir Tee Chai Seng said: “We are pleased to be awarded with this contract from S P Setia, which is a returning client. This is a testament to our proven track record along with our three key emphases in delivering projects with good quality, completion on time and prioritising health and safety at work.
“With this contract win, it further boosts our order book and gives us clear earnings visibility. The overall outlook of the construction sector is currently more favourable as the raw material prices of goods have stabilised. In addition, the project rollout from the public and private sectors is increasing, which bodes well for the construction industry, including TCS. We look forward to sharing more exciting updates to our shareholders in the coming months.”
The construction period is set for 28 months, with completion forecast for 13 February 2027.
