Suvic subsidiary signs BoP contract for two wind farms

The contract is part of the overarching High Coast development.

Construction company Suvic’s Swedish subsidiary has signed a balance of plant (BoP) contract for the construction of two wind farms in Sweden.

The collaboration for the BoP project is with Adalen and HC Wind, which are special-purpose vehicles launched by Renewable Power Capital (RPC).

The contract, valued at approximately Skr560m ($58.3m), is said to be Suvic’s debut major project in the Swedish market.

The scope of the BoP contract involves the development of the Storhöjden and Vitberget wind farms in the Kramfors municipality of the country.

Furthermore, the contract comprises the design and construction of roads, lifting platforms, foundations, internal grid groundworks, and a communications network at the site.

The project, part of the overarching High Coast development, plans to construct a total of 46 wind turbines, with 22 at Storhöjden and 24 at Vitberget.

The aim is to optimise the infrastructure's design to maximise the use of bedrock anchor foundations.

Suvic has already completed preliminary design work and field surveys for Storhöjden under an early works agreement.

The wind farms are expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2025.

This BoP agreement is conditional upon the contractual partner’s separate notice to proceed.

Suvic CEO Ville Vesanen said: “We are very pleased about the trust the RPC has shown us in this significant project. It represents to us an important step towards strong presence in the Swedish market.”
