STRABAG’s Slovenian subsidiary has secured contracts for three construction and civil engineering projects in the country.
The projects include a new university complex for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Ljubljana, a warehouse at the seaport in Koper, and a residential development in Štepanja Vas.
STRABAG CEO Klemens Haselsteiner said: “We are proud to have been awarded these important contracts in Slovenia.
“The new projects in building construction are another opportunity for our Slovenian subsidiary and its team of around 130 employees to demonstrate their broad range of services and expertise.”
The €46.4m ($50.35m) university complex will comprise two interconnected building sections, replacing the currently outdated faculty buildings.
It will provide approximately 24,000m² of space for research, teaching, and clinical treatment.
Construction is set to begin this month and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
In Koper, STRABAG has been chosen to construct Warehouse No. 54, a €35.9m project for storing and handling steel coils.
The warehouse will feature a photovoltaic array and a transformer station for sustainable power supply.
Spanning 14,000m², the warehouse will be built on 1,730 concrete piles and is designed to facilitate logistics with a two-aisle layout and several bridge cranes.
Work will commence this month, with completion anticipated in the first quarter of 2026.
The third project, valued at €16m, involves a turnkey residential development in the Štepanja Vas neighbourhood for the City of Ljubljana.
STRABAG is serving as the general contractor.
The development will include 97 non-profit rental units, communal areas, as well as restaurants on the ground floor and two units for shared housing for older residents.
It will also have a two-storey underground car park comprising 188 spaces.
Comprising three four-storey buildings, the project will feature landscaped courtyards and children’s playgrounds.
Construction is anticipated to start in September this year and last around 20 months.
