The expansions and new building of the development are aiming to meet BREEAM Excellent certification.

Property developer Stoford has filed a detailed planning application for the development of a new headquarters for a manufacturer client in Wolverhampton, England, UK.

Stoford, the lead developer of this project, submitted the application on behalf of UK-based paper converter Task Consumer Products.

The project, which represents an investment of approximately £30m, is expected to generate roughly 50 new jobs.

This 210,000ft² of additional industrial and distribution space, stretching an area of 18 acres, is located at Citygate Park, Stafford Road, in Wolverhampton.

Plans comprise an 83,500ft² addition to an existing structure that will be linked by a conveyor belt system to a new purpose-built unit of about 125,000ft² with three-storey office space.

This new facility will include an on-site warehouse and distribution space to serve existing and extended manufacturing lines.

Task director Nikul Patel said: “This investment is being driven by the rapid growth of our Little Duck brand, as well as our increasing market share in the private label sector.

“It will allow for further production capacity and warehousing, and we expect to create as many as 50 new manufacturing and distribution jobs to meet customer demand.”

Both these expansions and the new building will meet the highest sustainability requirements and are hoped to achieve a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) 'Excellent' rating.

Upon receiving planning permission, construction work is set to begin in February next year.

The demolition of a vacant neighbouring warehouse is expected to commence this month, with prior clearance from City of Wolverhampton Council.

Stoford joint managing director Dan Gallagher said: “We will shortly begin demolition of an adjacent disused property to ensure there are no obstructions on site and that the full programme can be delivered more swiftly.”
