The Stadtforum Dresden, a modern administrative centre in Germany, has been completed, providing a unified space for numerous municipal departments.

The project, fulfilled for KID Kommunale Immobilien Dresden, a wholly owned subsidiary of the State Capital of Dresden, offers workplaces for approximately 1,500 employees.

The project was carried out by a consortium comprising ED. ZÜBLIN, a building construction and civil engineering division of STRABAG Group, and construction company Dreßler Bau as the general contractor.

ZÜBLIN Saxony division construction head Frank Hübner said: "The Stadtforum with its striking architecture was a challenging construction project. We are very proud of what we have achieved and are now looking forward to celebrating the opening of the administration building together.

"The successful realisation shows what is possible through constructive cooperation and the commitment of all those involved. I would like to thank everyone involved in the project for this."

The new building extends over 16,700m² of usable space above ground. Its three-part facade creates a visual contrast with its glass surfaces on the lower levels and a light limestone grid on the central section.

The Stadtforum Dresden is stated to be not only a workplace but also serves as a public space with its entrance area acting as a central contact point.

The building includes two green inner courtyards, a green flat roof, and an underground car park with 165 spaces for cars and 371 bicycle parking spaces, promoting sustainable mobility.

The building's interior features wooden slat constructions on the walls and ceilings in the foyer, along with vertical green elements.

The structure incorporates energy-efficient heating and air-conditioning technology with a district heating supply.

In February this year, ZÜBLIN Nederland, a Dutch construction subsidiary of STRABAG, secured a contract worth approximately €139m ($144.8m) to construct a residential complex for Greystar in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
