Construction company Skanska and the Vellinge Municipality in Sweden have signed a contract for the construction of a new Tångvalla school campus and sports field.
This contract is valued at approximately Skr500m ($45.62m).
As part of this development project in Falsterbo, the current school and sports hall will also be demolished.
The school will accommodate grades one through nine, with a capacity of 450 students.
The project comprises a preschool and a new sports field, along with a new two-storey school building and a sports hall.
Furthermore, it consists of different sizes of classrooms, a kitchen and cafeteria, a library, and administrative areas.
Meanwhile, the preschool will feature nine sections with a total capacity of 180 children, and the sports hall is planned to be full-sized with a grandstand, a gymnastics area, and a youth centre.
Additionally, a new full-size artificial turf football pitch will be constructed.
Skanska will enter this contract in its Swedish order bookings for Q3 2023.
This project aims to achieve Nordic Swan and Environmental Building level Gold certification.
Construction works are anticipated to begin in Q4 2023 and are slated for completion in Q2 2026.
Last month, Skanska was awarded the contract to build the new Midtbygda care facility in Bergen, Norway.
