Skanska has announced its plans for the development of a new residential project, namely Stilla, in Warsaw, Poland.

The company is investing 126m zlotys ($31.16m) in the project.

The development will comprise two buildings, one with four storeys and the other with eight, providing a total of 179 apartments designed with functionality in mind.

Each unit will feature a smart home system, enabling residents to control lighting, electrical sockets, and heating remotely via a mobile app.

This technology is anticipated to facilitate annual savings of up to 18% for the occupants.

The project will offer an inner courtyard designed for relaxation, recreation, and socialising, as well as a communal greenhouse, allowing residents to grow plants and vegetables.

Stilla is set to incorporate a range of eco-friendly solutions aimed at enhancing its energy efficiency and reducing both carbon and water footprints.

These features, including green roofs, photovoltaic panels, energy-recovering elevators, and air quality sensors, are expected to contribute to the well-being of residents.

The development is also seeking Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) certification.

Construction of the project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, with completion expected by Q4 2025.

Earlier this month, the company secured a contract to build a health and care centre in the county of Agder in southern Norway.

The Nkr822m contract was signed with Lindesnes Municipality in the region.
