Skanska has secured an Nkr822m ($78.69m) contract to construct a health and care centre in the county of Agder in southern Norway.   

The contract has been signed with Lindesnes Municipality in the region. 

The care centre will span approximately 8,000m², featuring 72 care homes and 48 short-term care units.  

Additionally, a 12,500m² health building will house an emergency room, ambulance station, occupational therapy, and mental health services, among other services. 

The facility will also include a day activity centre, a healthy lifestyle centre, a café and spaces for voluntary groups and organisations. 

The project has set climate goals, intending to construct buildings with wood, achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions, reuse materials, and produce more energy than consumed during operation.  

Construction is set to commence this month, with completion anticipated in December 2027.  

The project will be recorded in Skanska’s Nordic order bookings for the first quarter of 2024.  

Earlier this month, Skanska signed a contract with DNB Livsforsikring through its subsidiary Trondheim Torg.
