Investment company Selfinvest has awarded a turnkey contract worth approximately Skr630m to builder NCC to construct new offices in Denmark.

NCC will be responsible for the construction of three main buildings, which will be between five and seven storeys tall, in the city of Middelfart on the island of Funen.

It will also be responsible for undertaking affiliated landscaping work around these offices.

The project’s total area will measure roughly 12,400m² and the buildings within it will comprise a total of about 600 workplaces and buildings designed for shared use.

Designed by Danish architect RasmusRasmus, the development's shared facilities include a canteen, meeting rooms, and technical installation areas.

The buildings will comprise a basement and car park of approximately 7,000m².

NCC Building Nordics head Catarina Molén-Runnäs said: “Together with Selfinvest and the advisors who were involved in the process, we have created a beautiful and high-quality office building [concept]. We look forward to breaking ground at this unique location beside the Little Belt strait.”

NCC plans to start construction on the project next month, with the offices planned to be ready for occupancy in early 2026.

Earlier in June this year, NCC was selected by FällesBo to undertake a refurbishment project in Porshöj, central Herning, Denmark.

That project involves renovating 21 apartment blocks that encompass a total of 441 apartment units.

South-East Asia Construction Market Dynamics

Per GlobalData analysis, the South-East Asia construction industry in 2023 is dominated by Indonesia, though the country will see a slowdown compared to 2022 due to elevated building material prices, weak commercial property demand, high interest rates and a softening of external demand. The construction industry in the Philippines is estimated to register a AAGR of 7.2% between 2024 and 2027, supported by the government’s focus on the development of the country’s rail and road transport and energy infrastructure.
