Scottish companies secure spot on £100m RM3 framework

The RM3 framework aims to modernise and improve Scotland's public sector and social housing buildings.

Several companies have secured a spot on the Scottish Procurement Alliance’s (SPA) nine-figure Refurbishment and Modernisation framework (RM3).

This follows the conclusion of a competitive tender process.

The framework is intended to modernise and improve Scotland's public sector and social housing buildings.

The RM3 framework has granted positions to 22 companies, including Bell Group, Hadden Construction, Ogilvie Construction, Trident Maintenance Services, and more.

The selected organisations now have the chance to receive contracts directly or through mini competitions, with a combined value of up to £100m ($128.23m).

These contracts involve upgrading and maintaining a wide range of social housing and public facilities.

The RM3 framework is designed to facilitate a wide range of refurbishment works, including kitchen and bathroom upgrades, external works, environmental enhancements, and more.

It is also equipped to handle multidisciplinary projects that cover adaptations, roofing, and mould prevention.

Structured into five workstreams, RM3 provides various value bands to accommodate small and medium-sized enterprises and enables them to participate in a diverse array of refurbishment projects.

These workstreams are designed to allow for a variety of project sizes, with no cap on the value of individual contracts.

The SPA collaborates with more than 120 public sector partners, ranging from small cooperatives and Registered Social Landlords to local authorities.

The alliance also partners with more than 250 suppliers, from micro companies to national businesses, all capable of delivering essential support services.

As a not-for-profit entity, the SPA reinvests its surpluses into local communities via the Community Benefit Fund (CBF), in partnership with Lintel Trust.

The SPA is currently overseeing 553 live projects with a combined value exceeding £1bn.

Since its establishment in 2017, the CBF has allocated more than £2m in grants and match funding, aiding more than 100 community groups, charities, and various causes.
