Saint-Gobain, a French sustainable construction company, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Glass Service, a digital solutions provider for glass furnaces.
The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Glass Service offers advanced control systems and simulation software designed to help customers minimise their energy consumption.
It provides a wide array of services ranging from simulation tools and furnace camera systems to handmade production furnaces and more.
The latest acquisition will add to Saint-Gobain's existing digital services, which comprise predictive, diagnostic, and data-driven solutions to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprints.
The acquisition, pending antitrust approvals, is expected to close by the end of the first half (H1) of 2024.
The move follows CertainTeed Roofing, the building products subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, breaking ground on an advanced roofing manufacturing and distribution centre in the US last year.
