Saint-Gobain has initiated the construction of a new administration building on its abrasives manufacturing campus in Worcester, Massachusetts, US.
The company’s subsidiary, Norton Abrasives, has been operational in the region for more than a century.
The building is being developed by Pure Development with DPR Construction leading the design and construction. The project will result in a 47,000ft² structure.
DPR Construction Boston business unit leader Patrick Cusson said: “It is an honour to work with Saint-Gobain, aligning around sustainability and continuous innovation through prefabrication and the latest in material technology as our teams join forces to efficiently deliver the new administration building.
“As a leader in the built environment, DPR Construction has used and installed their products on many projects. We are excited to have the opportunity to implement these materials directly for Saint-Gobain as we self-perform these scopes to ensure the installation reflects the high standards of their brand.”
The anticipated completion and occupancy of the building are set for January 2026.
Patrick Dwyer said: “We look forward to working with our local partners as construction gets underway on our new state-of-the-art administration building and thank all of the stakeholders who have made this project possible.”
The construction follows Saint-Gobain's donation of about 51 acres to the Worcester Business Development Corporation, aligning with the Greendale Revitalisation Plan.
This plan also involved the land where the current administration building is situated.
Earlier in August 2024, Saint-Gobain reached a definitive agreement to purchase OVNIVER Group for $815m in cash.
