Ryan Companies has announced the completion of the second phase of the Friendship Village Tempe community renovation project in Arizona, US.
The company was responsible for the execution of both the first and second phases of the project.
Ryan A+E, the design studio of Ryan, served as the architect.
LCS Development developed the project, which will be managed by LCS.
The first phase of construction for the revitalisation of the community, which was originally built in the 1980s, began in 2019.
The second phase saw the construction of a new four-storey building spanning 142,619ft² on a 50-acre campus.
This building includes 64 independent living residences, four guest suites, and 69 underground parking spaces.
Ryan vice-president of construction operations for Southwest region Beau Brush said: “The opening of this new building meets the needs of a growing senior population in the area with well-appointed residences, top-tier amenities, and proximity to several dining and retail options.”
Starfire, a full-service rooftop restaurant and microbrewery, has been added to the newly renovated community.
The renovation has introduced a connected walkway leading to the first-phase building, which includes multiple rooftop pickleball courts.
Friendship Village Tempe executive director Cole Marvin said: “Together we have been able to design and build homes that we are proud of and are conducive to the fun and exciting lifestyle we have become known for.”
The third phase of construction is set to commence in the second quarter (Q2) of 2025.
In 2022, Ryan broke ground on a 345-unit multifamily community project at Mueller, in Austin, Texas, US.
This project includes two mid-rise, three to five-storey buildings with various exterior architectural elements.
