Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of construction works on an internal roads and streetlight project across four residential communities.
The areas are Lehbab, Al Lesaili, Margham, and Hatta.
The project, which spanned a total of 35km, included 18km of new road construction and the installation of lighting poles alongside an additional 17km of existing streets.
RTA board of executive directors chair and director-general Mattar Al Tayer said: “The project reflects RTA’s commitment to upgrading the infrastructure of roads, streetlights, and rainwater drainage systems in residential communities.”
The internal roads project at Margham involved the construction of 5km of roads near Skydive Dubai, along Dubai-Al Ain Road, noted Al Tayer.
This development includes road pavements, rainwater drainage networks, and streetlights, serving more than 1,100 residents in the area.
In Hatta, the project comprised the building of 2km of roads at Suhaila, along with infrastructure works such as rainwater drainage and streetlight installation, serving around 6,000 residents.
It is aimed at enhancing the entry and exit points and the connection to the road network.
The RTA has also recently completed internal road construction in three other residential districts consisting of Al Quoz 2, Nad Al Sheba 2, and Al Barsha South 3.
It covers 37km and accommodates 12,000 residents.
