The NRP Group, alongside PointOne Holdings and Travis County Facilities, has announced the commencement of construction on a 328-unit mixed-income multifamily development in Austin, Texas, US.
The project, named Ross Road, is set to cater to the local demand for affordable housing options for essential workers, young professionals, and families.
Half of its units are earmarked for residents earning 60% to 80% of the area median income.
The development will feature a variety of one- and two-bedroom apartments.
The architectural design, crafted by Lord Aeck Sargent, presents a four-storey structure with a focus on maximising outdoor space, including a covered parking facility.
The development will occupy a 16.5-acre site, with half of the area dedicated to green spaces and outdoor amenities.
These will include a primary courtyard with a resort-style pool, cabanas, and areas for outdoor games such as ping pong and cornhole.
In addition, Ross Road will provide two landscaped courtyards and a dog park with views of the greenbelt to the east.
The development will include co-working spaces with meeting and conference rooms.
It will also have a double-height lobby, a fitness centre, and a community chef’s kitchen designed for social events.
Construction of Ross Road is already in progress, with the expected completion and delivery of the community set for 2026.
Its location offers residents easy access to employment centres via nearby Highway 71 and the 130 tollway, with downtown Austin just a 20-minute drive away.
The NRP Group Development vice-president Max Whipple said: “This development is a testament to our commitment to create inclusive housing communities where residents of all income levels can thrive.
“As we celebrate our 30th anniversary and the delivery of our 30,000th housing unit in Texas, East Austin’s Ross Road development will provide the local workforce with the opportunity to affordably live in the vibrant community where they work.”
The project follows the recent completion of The Markson and Station42, which offer 330 and 368 units, respectively, in Austin.
Furthermore, in June of this year, The NRP Group, in partnership with RPW Group, launched construction on a 200-unit luxury multifamily development in Harrison, New York.
