Construction company Robins & Morton has officially marked the start of construction on the new Okaloosa Gas District headquarters (HQ) in Valparaiso, Florida, US.

The construction business is serving as the general contractor for this project while DAG Architects has been appointed as the architect.

Robins & Morton project director Bryan Durkin said: “We appreciate the trust placed in us to deliver these much-needed facilities for Okaloosa Gas District.

“We look forward to seeing the new campus’ positive impact on this community.”

The project will replace the utility's current support services facilities, some of which are approximately 70 years old.

The new campus will be designed to centralise Okaloosa Gas District's team members.

It will feature a four-storey, 152,000ft² office building, an 18,400ft² operations centre, a 7,200ft² vehicle maintenance building, and a 23,540ft² warehouse.

It will also provide meeting spaces for community events.

Okaloosa Gas District CEO Gordon King said: “Plans are moving forward and we are excited to get this project underway, and some groundwork has already begun.

“We look forward to our ongoing partnership with the community as we continue to grow.”

Completion of the project is expected in 2025.

This comes after Robins & Morton celebrated the topping-out of Rheumatology Associates of North Alabama’s new medical office building in Huntsville, Alabama, last month.

The 20,500ft² facility will include 24 exam rooms, an infusion room, an X-ray room, four nurses stations, a lab, and several offices.

In 2021, AdventHealth broke ground on its 100-bed Palm Coast Parkway hospital in Flagler County, for which Robins & Morton was appointed as a contractor.
