Software technology provider RIB Software has partnered with 2050 Materials to enhance its all-in-one takeoff, estimating and reporting solution, CostX.

CostX is noted to bring carbon calculation to the forefront of quantity surveying, estimation, and construction processes.

Meanwhile, 2050 enables users to make data-driven decisions at any project stage.

RIB Software EMEA managing director Steve Dousie said: “We have always strived to serve our customers with the best technology and services to ensure project profitability and carbon reduction targets.

“Our groundbreaking partnership with 2050 Materials is an exciting development in our commitment to providing the framework for quantity surveyors, estimators, and professionals to make carbon assessments in real-time as a project develops.”

2050 Materials co-founder and CEO Phanos Hadjikyriakou noted that the partnership will see the company’s carbon rate libraries incorporated into CostX’s cost estimation software.

It will allow quantity surveyors to include real-time carbon data in their workflow, balancing cost analysis with embodied carbon assessments, he notes.

This agreement is expected to enable CostX users to make decisions using real-time carbon data.

The collaboration will allow users to seamlessly conduct carbon assessments alongside cost evaluations.

With the integration of 2050 Materials' database, CostX users will have access to accurate and current information, ensuring decisions are well-informed.

The database includes digitised Environmental Product Declarations data and default assembly information.

Hadjikyriakou said: “2050 Materials is excited to partner with CostX in this mission to empower industry professionals with the tools needed to contribute to a sustainable built environment.”
