Construction company Peab has been contracted by Sweden-based MittSverige Vatten & Avfall to deploy water and sewer lines for the upcoming 'Torsboda Industrial Park' in Timrå Municipality, Sweden.

This contract is valued at approximately Skr400m.

Opening enterprises in the industrial park is part of Timrå Municipality’s preparation for community expansion.

The installation of new pipelines is required to address the demand for a genuine water and sewage system in the area.

These 15km-long pipelines will include pressure and gravity-flow pipes and be used to channel drinking water, process water, and wastewater.

A new sewage treatment plant will be constructed to handle wastewater sustainably while the current facility in Sörker will be integrated into this solution.

The project is a turnkey contract in a partnership form and will be added to the affiliated order bookings for this year's second quarter.

Construction will commence late this year and is scheduled to be finished in December 2025.

MittSverige Vatten & Avfall's Water and Sewer Business area manager Tomas Larsson said: “This project means a lot for the future of Timrå’s growth and development.

“We are considerably expanding our water and sewer capacity and taking into account other future establishments and homes.

“The timetable is challenging but with this contract in place we are ready to start construction in the fall [autumn].”

Peab region manager Jörgen Eriksson added: “I’m proud that we, with local resources, will enable an expansion of the area and Timrå Municipality.

“We will be laying pipelines in sensitive nature, and this requires extensive studies and close collaboration with various environmental authorities.”
