Nordic community builder Peab has secured a turnkey contract to reconstruct a school in Lund, Sweden.

The contract, which is in partnering format, was awarded by Lundafastigheter and is valued at Skr139m ($13.45m).

Situated in the Vipelyckan area in the south-east section of Lund, the school has accommodated Vipan High School's restaurant and food programme for years.

Now, it will undergo renovations to introduce a teaching commercial kitchen and bakery.

The renovation project encompasses a gross area of approximately 4,200m².

Peab region manager Olle Olsson said: “We’re pleased and proud to be part of creating good learning conditions for the students in Lund through this continued collaboration with Lundafastigheter.

“As a community builder, we consider this a very important project.”

Work on the project has already commenced, with completion expected in April 2025.

Peab will order register the project in the first quarter (Q1) of this year.

This comes after Peab secured a turnkey contract to construct new railway sidings in Lärje, located north of Gothenburg, Sweden, earlier this month.

The Skr392m contract was awarded by the Swedish Transport Administration.

This month, Peab also secured a Skr1.3bn turnkey contract to construct a new swimming pool block for customer Partillebo in Partille Municipality, Sweden.

The contract entails the construction of a new 10,000m² swimming pool facility, 11,000m² of residential apartments, 4,000m² of commercial space, and more in the borough of Partille Port.

The company has its headquarters in Förslöv on the Bjäre Peninsula in southern Sweden.
