Peab, a Nordic construction and civil engineering company, has been appointed to renovate an office building in Helsinki, Finland, for Nordisk Renting, with the contract valued at €10m ($10.3m).
The project, which will begin this month and is expected to be completed in early 2026, includes the conversion of the site's cold ground floor into warm indoor spaces and the addition of a new main entrance.
The renovation will encompass an 11,000m² gross area, spread over eight floors, including repairs and reinforcements to the building's frame.
The building’s technology systems will also be upgraded to meet modern standards.
This contract will be registered by the company in the first quarter of 2025.
Peab Finland region manager Ilkka Laakeristo said: "We’re proud of the trust placed in us by our customer. When we renovate this office building, which was built during the recession in the beginning of 1990s, we do it with high sustainability goals for both work safety and the environment."
Last month, Peab secured new contracts in the Nordic region, in Finland and Sweden.
In Finland, Peab was tasked to construct a 7,300m² industrial production facility at Jyväskyla for Jykia, which will be utilised by Nammo Lapua for artillery manufacturing. This contract is worth €11m.
In Sweden, Peab was awarded a Skr276m contract by Boden Municipality for the expansion and reconstruction of underground pipelines from the Lule River to Boden Industrial Park.
In the same month, Peab also secured a Skr101m contract to build rental apartments in Trelleborg, Sweden, for Sjoormen, a subsidiary of Alsingevallen.
