Nordic community builder Peab has secured an €11m ($11.97m) contract to construct a new fire station in Kaarina, Finland.
Commissioned by the City of Kaarina, Peab will also be responsible for building a garage and storage space at the site.
The project will see the construction of a new main building and a fire station, which together will cover an area of nearly 3,600m².
The upcoming fire station will serve as a replacement for the current facility located in the centre of the city.
Peab Finland region manager Matti Joensuu said: “We’re really proud of the opportunity to carry out this project for the City of Kaarina and its residents.
“We’re very familiar with this kind of project since we’ve built several similar fire and rescue stations all over Finland in recent years.”
Commencement of the project is scheduled to take place in March 2024, with completion anticipated in August 2025.
The project's contract will be recorded in the first quarter of 2024.
The award comes after Peab secured a turnkey contract to construct a new dock in Skelleftehamn, Sweden, last week.
