Nordic construction and civil engineering company Peab has been contracted for the development of a new fire station along with an associated training pitch in Eriksberg in Hallstahammar, Sweden.
Rescue Services Mälardalen is the client for this project.
The estimated value of this contract is Skr140m.
The scope of this project includes the development of a part-time fire station for the member municipalities of Hallstahammar, Västerås, Surahammar, and Köping, among others.
The building will include spaces for classrooms, overnight lodgings, workshops, and a distribution hub.
This new part-time fire station is suitably positioned in Eriksberg, outside of Hallstahammar, near E18, in the centre of the geographic region it will service.
Peab region manager Nils Staffansson said: “We’re very pleased to have won the commission to build the new part-time fire station and adjacent training field for the member municipalities in Västmanland.
“We feel we’re well-equipped for this project and will take advantage of all the experience we have from building other fire stations in the region.”
Construction work is set to commence this month and is anticipated to be finished in February 2025.
This development project is a turnkey contract in partnering form, according to the company.
Peab will enter this project into its order bookings for the fourth quarter of this year.
Earlier this month, Peab received a contract for a new cold storage facility in Hyllinge, a locality north-east of Helsingborg in Sweden.
