OHLA, through its subsidiaries OHLA Building and OHLA USA, has secured construction contracts valued at $170m for various project in Florida, US.
These contracts are for a range of projects, including luxury residential construction and roadway improvements.
The project will see the employment of both traditional and progressive design-build delivery methods.
The first contract is for managing the construction of a seven-storey luxury apartment building at 1155 100th Street in Bay Harbor Islands, Miami-Dade County.
This new residential development will feature 45 apartments alongside amenities.
OHLA's civil subsidiary has been entrusted with multiple projects aimed at enhancing travel reliability on Florida's roadways.
Among these is a contract involving the upgrade of 12.5 miles of County Road 721 in Glades County to accommodate the increase in vehicular traffic.
In Southwest Florida, Lee County has awarded OHLA a project to expand Ortiz Avenue.
The expansion is anticipated to double the road's capacity and include drainage improvements, stormwater management, utility relocations, and the installation of new water mains and sewers.
The project also includes the addition of 7ft-wide bicycle lanes, a 10ft-wide walking trail, a 6ft-wide sidewalk, and lighting along the Ortiz Avenue corridor.
Furthermore, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has selected OHLA for the reconstruction of a four-mile section of State Road (SR) 5, named Overseas Highway.
OHLA is also working on other FDOT projects such as a $27.9m initiative to resurface and install guardrails along 15 miles of Interstate 75.
These also comprise a $4.92m contract for the resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation of SR 786 from PGA Boulevard to Fairchild Gardens Avenue in Palm Beach County.
OHLA entered the US market in 2006 and has expanded its operations across several states since, including Florida, New York, California, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Illinois.
