Construction has commenced on Lufthansa Group’s new visitor and conference centre near the Lufthansa Aviation Center (LAC) at Frankfurt Airport in Germany.

The facility, designed by architecture company Albert Speer + Partner (AS+P), is intended to serve as a hub for collaboration for Lufthansa employees.

It will also serve customers, business partners, and aviation enthusiasts.

Goldbeck, a building and service company, has been tasked with its construction.

This facility will have two aircraft: the Junkers Ju 52 and the Lockheed Super Star, registration D-ALAN, on permanent display.

These aircraft will be showcased through a large transparent facade.

Lockheed Super Star is currently undergoing restoration at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg.

The new building, which is said to be designed akin to an aircraft hangar, will offer conference and visitor facilities for more than 1,000 guests.

In addition, the design of the building is said to represent the style of the neighbouring LAC.

It will measure 72m in width, 17.5m in height, and 53m in length, with a total floor area of approximately 3,800m².

It will also incorporate efficient and sustainable energy concepts, with the building featuring a geothermal heat pump, as well as ground collectors.

It will also feature an empty conduit system, allowing for the potential installation of e-charging stations in its parking area in the future.

Among other initiatives, the company is currently involved in the development of the PTS Station F at Terminal 1 at Frankfurt Airport.
