NCC wins contract to build 170 apartments in Danderyd

The apartments are set to consume minimal energy with low operating and maintenance costs.

August 25 2023

Nordic construction company NCC has secured a contract from Aros Bostadsutveckling (Aros Bostad) to build 170 rental apartments in the third phase of the new Invernesshöjden residential complex in Danderyd, Stockholm, Sweden.

The value of this contract has been estimated at Skr300m.

The earthworks for the project have already begun.

The 170 units will be spread across two buildings with seven to 14 storeys alongside a basement.

In addition to receiving Nordic Swan's 'Ecolabel', the apartments are envisaged to consume minimal energy, thereby lowering its operating and maintenance costs.

Aros Bostad CEO Magnus Andersson said: “We are continuing this strong partnership with NCC in Invernesshöjden, where we are now constructing 170 rental apartments that will carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

"Reducing the climate impact through material choices, energy solutions, and reuse is a priority in our ambition to reduce our carbon footprint by 25% by 2025.”

In December 2017, NCC and Aros Bostad signed a collaboration agreement to construct Invernesshöjden in southern Danderyd, a new residential community with more than 400 apartments.

NCC completed the first phase in 2021, which comprised 86 tenant-owned apartments spread over two residential towers. The second phase, consisting of 153 tenant-owned units, began in 2022 and is now under development and nearing completion.

NCC Building Sweden head Henrik Landelius said: “Through the experiences gained from previous phases and a close collaboration with Aros Bostad, architects and design engineers, we have refined both the framework system and design in this phase.

“We are now looking forward to further developing Invernesshöjden using our collective expertise.”

Construction of the third phase will begin this November, with the site's first occupancy scheduled for 2026. The order will be added by NCC to its Building Sweden business segment in this year's third quarter.
