NCC, under a partnership agreement with fsbHJEM, has secured a contract to refurbish 259 rental units in the Dommerparken area of Copenhagen, Denmark.

The project, valued at approximately Skr285m ($27m), is an undertaking within the fsbHJEM framework agreement.

This agreement entails NCC, together with other selected partners, to refurbish fsbHJEM's housing stock.

The selected area features six buildings, each with seven floors, encompassing apartments, a facility maintenance building, and additional premises housing a preschool and after-school centre.

The refurbishment will involve an overhaul of the site's facades, windows, bathrooms, and kitchens, as well as enhancements to the surrounding outdoor spaces.

NCC Building Nordics head Catarina Molén Runnäs said: “NCC will contribute with what it does best, which is to plan, construct and manage construction and refurbishment projects. Dommerparken was built just after World War II and the aim is to restore the area to its original appearance, which we are looking forward to creating.”

The refurbishment project is set to commence in late 2024, with an anticipated completion date in 2026.

The order will be registered under the NCC Building Nordics division in the third quarter of 2024.

This contract comes after NCC and the Swedish Transport Administration entered into a partnership earlier this month to execute a construction contract valued at Skr175m in the Masthuggskajen district of the country.

This project, structured as a partnering agreement, involves decking over the western mouth of the Göta Tunnel and the construction of a ventilation tower above an existing culvert.
