NCC has entered into agreements with the municipalities of Varde and Guldborgsund in Denmark, as well as the Danish Road Directorate, for the laying of asphalt in the country.
The framework agreement with Varde Municipality is a four-year contract starting in 2024, with the possibility of a four-year extension.
The contract is valued at Skr180m ($17.68m) and will be registered under the NCC Industry business segment on an ongoing basis from 2024.
The orders from Guldborgsund Municipality and the Danish Road Directorate total Skr30m.
These orders were registered in the fourth quarter of 2023 also within the NCC Industry business.
NCC will be responsible for replacing outdated surfaces with new asphalt to help reduce noise and carbon dioxide emissions for the Danish Road Directorate.
Work under the contract will take place in several locations, including Løkken in northern Jutland, Langebæk in Zealand, and Nørre Aaby in Funen.
NCC Industry Asfalt Denmark head Lars Vester said: “We can look back on a year filled with activity and impressive work from our colleagues on the roads and in the factories. With all the new contracts in place for 2024, we are keen to get going with the upcoming asphalt season.”
In December last year, NCC revealed its plans to construct new headquarters for German engineering and technology company Bosch in Ballerup, Denmark.
Spanning three floors, the office building covers roughly 10,000m² and is expected to serve as a workplace for all company employees who are currently based in two separate locations.
