Morris & Spottiswood Group has acquired part of the collapsed ISG group, a move that secures the employment of more than 100 individuals and extends the company's reach within the UK.
The acquisition has led to the establishment of Morris & Spottiswood England, a new division that complements the existing Morris & Spottiswood Scotland and Livingston M&E businesses.
This deal adds 111 new employees, including ISG's senior management team, to the company.
It also enhances Morris & Spottiswood's portfolio within the financial sector by adding a number of major financial institutions, and its presence in the retail sector with the addition of two major retailers.
The acquisition is expected to generate up to £100m ($126.37m) in revenue over the next 15 months, significantly accelerating Morris & Spottiswood Group’s growth strategy. It is also projected to boost the group’s turnover to £265m, representing an annual growth of 74%.
The newly formed Morris & Spottiswood England will operate from ten offices across the UK, from Glasgow to Whitstable. The Whitstable office is now equipped to provide in-house joinery services, delivering continuity for clients.
Additionally, McLennan, the group's in-house design company, plans to open a new office in London to cater to the expanded UK market.
To cater to the growing trend of off-site construction, Morris & Spottiswood has acquired JB Engineering, a specialist in off-site fabrication services. This acquisition, now part of Livingston Building Services, “strengthens the group's end-to-end service delivery proposition”.
Morris & Spottiswood Group CEO Jon Dunwell said: “We have a firm People First focus and have been energised by this development, which brings a new mix of people into the business - aligned by values and skills but also offering fresh perspectives and experience to our established talent pool.
"This is an exciting new phase in our growth plan, as we combine the best ideas and strengths from both businesses and move forwards together as one team."
