Morgan Sindall has been contracted by Harlow Council for the multimillion-pound regeneration project of Harlow Bus Station in England, UK.

The project is supported by government funding as part of the £23.7m ($30.12m) Towns Fund programme.

The Sustainable Transport Hub and Interchange project will entail the complete renovation and replacement of the current bus station and improvements to Terminus Street.

This initiative aims to create a well-lit space that caters to public transportation needs for residents, visitors, and employees of Harlow.

The new hub is designed to connect seamlessly with the Harlow and Gilston Garden Town sustainable transport corridor.

Harlow Council economic development cabinet portfolio holder Michael Hardware said: “We are now moving quickly into the delivery phase of rebuilding our town centre with another major regeneration project underway in the coming weeks.

“The transformation of the Bus Station and Terminus Street will make a huge difference to this side of the town centre and will complement improvements to Broad Walk and our plans for Market Square. This is all about putting the heart back into Harlow’s town centre.”

The demolition of the existing bus station's waiting room, toilets, and the Terminus House bridge is expected to begin next month.

This demolition marks the beginning of an 18-month construction programme.

Changes to access routes will be implemented as the central access through the bus interchange will be closed.

Visitors and tenants will be able to reach Terminus House and its car park via the north and south of Terminus Street.

Additionally, more accessible and disabled parking bays will be provided on the ground floor of Terminus House.

Last week, Morgan Sindall Construction’s Essex division was selected to perform upgrades at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
