American real estate developer the Integral Group has appointed McShane Construction Company for the Ashley at Scholars Landing development’s second phase in Atlanta, Georgia, US.

This mixed-income multifamily residence will consist of 212 housing units.

The apartment units will feature improved finishes such as stainless-steel appliances and granite countertops.

Furthermore, residents will have access to a club room, an activity area, micro-office spaces, and a fitness centre.

In addition, the property will have a pool area with cabanas and a walking park. Residents will have access to a precast parking area.

McShane vice-president Brian Wood said: “We are excited to get started on the second phase of Ashley at Scholars Landing.

“We completed the first phase of the development with 135 units in 2020, and we look forward to bringing another 212 affordable and market-rate units to Atlanta.”

The three and four-storey building, situated at 680 Atlanta Student Movement Boulevard, encompasses brick masonry and is being developed to attain EarthCraft Gold Certification.

Ashley at Scholars Landing II is expected to be completed in July 2025.

Designer JHP Architecture served as the architect of this project.

Earlier this month, McShane successfully completed the Hackney House Apartments project at Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, US.

First movers have a clear advantage and could be seen as leading metaverse adopters in the construction market

The construction industry has large and complex sites to manage, strict project deadlines, hazardous working conditions, and tight profit margins. It is also under increasing pressure to improve its ESG credentials and digitalize. The three primary use cases for the metaverse in the construction industry are training, building information modeling (BIM) renders, and collaborative creation, though its adoption is still in its infancy.
